This class is the first of a series of three classes on the ancient middle east before the conquests of Alexander the Great. Beginning with the Sumerian Civilization in present day southern Iraq, we will follow the development of civilization in that area to the reign of King Hammurabi.

We invite you to participate in our goal to raise money for clean water in Nicaraguan villages. Without clean water sources, many people become sick and die every year from preventable illnesses. In order to raise this money, we are hosting a premier wine tasting with Apollo's and food provided by Chef Johnny Mango. Live music by local Fair Trade band. 100% of the profits will go towards providing clean water systems in Nicaragua!

Ann Reed’s “Heroes: A Celebration of Women Who Changed History and Our Lives”

 Zumbrota State Theatre.What began as a song praising 40 notable women has become a touring play. Ann Reed, a folk singer who has been a guest on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion,” “Good Morning America,” and NPR’s “Morning Edition,” wrote the song, “Heroes,” in reaction to public comments that there are no real role models left for children or adults.

Book Reading and Signing for Foster Fox, A 10,000 Lakes Tale

 AFFINITY PLUS Federal Credit Union. This is the 1st Book Reading and Signing of "Foster, Fox, A 10,000 Lakes Tale", since its release February 6, 2012. This book is set to become an Instant Classic among readers and book clubs and was inspired by animals native to Minnesota, especially Rochester, MN and is a sort of Lion King adventure written to promote animal awareness and entertain today's youth. This event is free and all are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
